S. 200th Station will be an elevated Sound Transit Link Light Rail Station in SeaTac, Washington. It is being built as part of the Airport Link Extension project, extending Central Link and will connect to South Link to Redondo/Star Lake and beyond. During the 2008 Sound Transit 2 campaign, Sound Transit indicated that the station would open in 2020 along with North Link. Sound Transit is currently pursuing grants in order to accelerate construction which would allow the station to open in 2016 alongside University Link.[1] Sound Transit recently updated their projects page, stating that service at this station is scheduled to begin in 2016.[2]
The elevated alignment will be built along the east side of 28th Ave S in SeaTac, with the station straddling S. 200th Street. It will include a two- to four-story park-and-ride garage containing 630 spaces at S. 200th St & 28th Ave S., along with a bus transfer area and a kiss-and-ride drop-off facility.[3] Sound Transit's SEPA Addendum for South Link, published July 2011, indicates three revised options for parking at the station. Alternative 1 would provide 1,100 parking spaces in a single structure. Alternative 2 would provide two structures, one with up to 470 spaces and one with 630 spaces. Alternative 3 would provide one structure with up to 470 spaces in conjunction with approximately 630 surface parking spaces in the existing commercial SeaTac Park for Sound Tranist patrons. All three options include the kiss-and-ride area.[4]
